Grip Safety

Sculpted grip safety fitting is a hallmark of Chen Custom 1911s. The grip safety is the primary surface which the recoil of the pistol gets transferred to the strong hand of the shooter. If this part is fitted poorly the shooter feels discomfort within a short period
of time.

Realizing this, I carefully fit and blend the grip safety so that when it is depressed in the shooting position, it forms a near seamless surface, with carefully contoured radii.

I all but eliminate the gap between the grip safety and the frame, eliminating another potential point of discomfort during long shooting sessions. The pistol in the hand feels unified and seamless.
